I am older now but I am green
Backyard climbing ivy green
Fern leaf outstretched green
So deep and dark green
It doesn’t seem real green
Like a boxwood hedge green
Labyrinth green
Green like California after 10 days of rain:
Biblical, lush and surprising
Like you can’t recognize where you are green
Growing green, palm trees shooting out into blue sky
and dotted clouds against hillside green
I am do not have time for this green
I am not bowing down to you green

For everything and everyone trying
