Somewhere,
under the jumble of words
that surround the white space
on the pages of my life

Somewhere
underneath the clutter
of last night’s dirty dishes
and the pharmacological diagnosis
of why we feel lost,

Somewhere
beyond the theological analysis of our grief
and the furnace of deconstructed language. . . .

The Sun
unencumbered by metaphysics
invites us to the delights of dawn

and the moon,
freed from the anxiety of “buts” and “what ifs…”
offers us shadows and starshine

to remind us of how the miracle of morning
and the blessings night greet us
with sacred light.
