The winds whistle their hymns
in the distance.
The waves wash themselves, away,
to a temporary sleep.
Of course I would do the same
if it wasn’t so quiet.

Don’t look at me like that!
I’m not crazy, you know.
I tend to rest better when it’s loud,
sleep soundly to the
screams and howls of the day.
Honking cars and thunderous crowd storms
abrase me, slowly,
til evening awakens,
lifting my eyelids
as a calm dusk appears.

Look up
into my many eyes.
Many call them stars.
Brighter than any morning you wake.
And you wake.
Your mind, never more open.
