M. Shayne Bell’s haiku are published in Modern Haiku, Heron’s Nest, Wales Haiku Journal, British Haiku Society, Mainichi Japan. In 1993, Bell backpacked through Maui’s Haleakala Volcano, from the summit to the sea, retracing an expedition Jack London went on in 1911. In 1996, Bell was part of an eight-day expedition to the summit of Kilimanjaro.
