Juhi Kundu lives in Lexington, MA, and is a high school junior at Concord Academy. She has loved making both 2D and 3D art from a young age. Her work includes everything from drawings, painting, and photography to crafts such as an R2D2 ottoman and a 4-foot-tall Halloween spider display.
Dear Kundu,
Last April at MSEF at Gilette Stadium, as a Judge, I saw your interesting project involving thermal control of roofing materials.
I encouraged you to take your project further, and mentioned the directly related, Innovate Research Contract I won with NASA titled;
Highly Adherant, Conductive, and Economical Plasma-Thermal-Sprayed Siloxane-Elastomer Thermal Control Paints. Contract with NASA-Goddard Space Flight Center, T. Walton, Principal Investigator.
We discussed keeping Absorptivity/Emissivity Ratio <1 as good way to control surface heating, and values for Absorptivity and Emissivity are readily available.
Only with your parent's permission I am glad to help further with what I know.
I would also like your help with a very short Judge evaluation survey, which will help promote/encourage Judges to share more of what they know with students.
Gratefully,
Thomas Walton
