Ecologically adrift in an alien land,
homesick for the tart red fruit
of his beloved England,
Johnny cast aside the life of a settler,
walked week after week through forest and prairies,
planting his seed,
planting his wishes in his new homeland
a truly American hero
who ravished a virgin
ecology.
