Another winter morning
with snow on the ground,
ice cycles hanging from the roof,
frost-covered windows,
and a cold northerly wind,
but another day that will pass
another day closer to spring,
to daffodils blooming
and to cherry trees blossoming
with a warm breeze
scattering white petals
that float on the air
instead of snow.
