night-long dream
my plane’s fate unknown
surreally, I waited for news

wakening
to this new day
grateful

when awake
obvious it was a dream
in the night, so real

now I’ll remember
for future dreams
the dead don’t wait

only the survivors
long for the hope
of a miracle
