The patio door was open a crack, so my cat could chase bugs outside. I sat on the couch for just a moment, but somehow fell asleep for a bit. I’ll blame it on the COVID vaccine I’d just gotten. I awoke to a rustling, and discovered a big black cat in my house. I shooed it outside and looked for my cat, who I thought had been scared away. I looked for hours, all around the house, around the patio, throughout the neighborhood. I shook his food box and called for him. Just when it was growing dark, and I’d begun to give up hope, he sauntered down the stairs for supper. He’d been hiding from the other cat this whole time.
