I want to see the words
that were read to me, aloud
and floated into my heart
I want to capture them
again
with my eyes
and sear them into my memory
To pull out
another day
when I might
need them
even more
than I needed
to hear them
today
The line about
by the fire you will find me
and
the elegance of a dragonfly
and
the brightness of light
floating upward to the sky
like a light lantern
Those words
that lightness of being
pulling me
skyward
on the wings of the words
read aloud
that floated
straight
into
my
heart
