In this moment
I can see backward
To my past
In this moment
I can see forward
To my future
And both intertwine
To create beauty
In this moment
And the words of
The songs I sang
When I was young
Are playing in this moment
While I am home
And there is a swirl
Of present
Of past
Of future
As the words
Conjure memories
Long lying still
And they tap
On the present
Waking my heart
And they harken a future
With memories of today
And conjoined
Memories from
Further ago
But feel so present
And the words
Are fresh
And clear
And mean more today
Having lived more life
Yet the meaning
Of my youth
Is attached, still
And my first love
Is in the room again
All these years later
With the song
And the music
And life
