Sitting
seeing what
he can still see
seeing still
the little that
is everything.
the nothing
that is all

          leaning
on the fence
on the bar
on the fence
on his cane
on his cane
breathing

          walking
where he
always walks
now not then
not as fast or
as steady but
there, and back
