A Tribute to the Lost Souls of Ukraine
Where do souls go when they have been pulled
too abruptly from their lives?
Do they bang into each other vying for space and travel
to meet with others who have passed suddenly
or descend to loved ones to say goodbye?
Do not fear. They hang together,
imprinting on each other
like juicy green grapes,
with the life energy remains—
habits, commitments, dreams, plans—
continuing to gyrate, comfort, and cling,
like green finger paint,
and then fade from a mossy green,
fingers removing one at a time…
from everything in a life.
