Deep within the universe
A momentary moan, barely a whisper,
Hardly noticeable
A sudden spasm
Begets a pulsating ripple
That quickens and divides,
Rubs against itself, incensed.
Aching, it spreads, inexorably
A white-hot surge, ill-defined, cloaked in a dark blanket,
Puzzling and devouring the worlds within reach.
In the stillness of space it grows
Sucking the marrow of matter and gasses
Feeding on the remnants of the weak and vulnerable
An insatiable dark reality.
