The united splintered
long ago
rushing to the surface
were the dendrites
our ancient impulse
towards love or fear
therein lies our solitary debacle
a fissure
in our transparent globe
we magnify the eruption
cracks shining forth
in vivid color
as the color blind
being in the majority
see little distinction
in the prism
of their rose-colored glasses
The underground spews
its venom and waste as hostility
a sizable undercurrent
disrupted our alignment
our wholeness
yearning
for an escape hatch
the opposition plays in fortissimo
it only knows
the key of raucousness
the curdles of disharmony
scorching the strident landscape
we lost our footing
tethered to being upright
only to be swayed into lying
our ears hearing double talk
a rule that fluctuates
as rulers do
we are drawn to the light
tumbling into love
as we renegotiate
surrounded in darkness.
