I did not cause
the earth to orbit
the sun;
or the moon to orbit
the earth.
I did not put
clouds in the sky,
thunder and lightning,
or cause
rain to fall.
I did not cause
this shifting earth
to create mountains,
flowing rivers,
lakes, bayous or
the oceans.
I did not create life;
no one has asked me to save a life;
nor have I ever taken
a life.
I cannot cause
love to be
where it never existed.
I cannot lose
what never was.
