so it began
days of Mickey and Minnie
wax papered aluminum boxed
sandwiches of delights
apples and puddings
playgrounds of fashion colors
scribbling reading at a desk
nights of hugs and dreams
into avenues
alleys side streets
pondering
dodging competing
fist fights and love affairs
picking the best bank
rocking a cradle
we all rose up
we all laid down
this lull of bye a life
