Only seven more
days of the school year
till summer.
I’m not ready to
say goodbye to you
just yet.
I want more time
with you before
you go.
More time to
learn, be, grow
together.
It’s not fair that
just when it gets really good
the year ends.
I feel this way
every year at this time, but
this year is more poignant.
Every year
just a little bit
more so.
In seven days
I’ll be ready-ish
but not today.
