I sit
in the gloaming
on my front porch

inhaling
the fresh scent
of the world

the humidity
of my just-watered flowers
soaking into the night

the trees making me
oxygen through their
photosynthetic leaves

the gorgeous perfume
of their flowers wafting
to me, below

the air itself
pregnant
with petrichor

I become the beauty
of the near night
melding into me

through my lungs
through my heart
through my soul
