The mirror tells me it sees everything
around it, but I know it lies. The mirror
sees only that which sits before it, only
what is positioned to reflect in its glass.
But look, tilt the mirror just few degrees
and you will see the bed behind me,
the bed where I sleep alone
but for the mirror watching me.
Slide the mirror a bit to the left
and you will see the gauzy gown
I wear to bed as if I plan
on not being alone much longer.
