I sit on my home’s dark,
humid front porch, warned,
severe thunderstorms approach.
Lightning is diffuse,
a strobe light on Xanax,
a heavenly preamble.
And fireflies,
so thick and close,
settle into their orchestra pit,
to commence the medley.
