There is a thread I follow home

It runs from where I am to who you are
through pulse and pound of blood-roped vessels
strung along with thoughts like white sheets
fresh sunshine on tight clothesline
unfurling edges snapping in summer breezes

of you and me and our
little long suck of breath
too secret to share here.
