you never know if today’s the day
until it is, it’s not something we
can ever count on but we do

when it comes it comes
not like the sun rising
but like a sunrise

it doesn’t, you might say,
quite take your breath away
and by yours, I mean mine,

it does instead give it back
fill me, lift me raise me up
and by me, I mean us.
