We float north downriver
where forest gives way to tundra
at midnight
orange sun floats on horizon
in the distance Arctic Ocean ice
real borders are not those of nations
but places tundra swans
and snowy owls know so well
we drift down a vast delta
while clouds drift like wings of swans
