Fear lurks in the closets of my mind
Fear burns away pieces of my soul
Fear robs me of my sanity
And it keeps me from being whole

But I shouldn’t fear what I cannot see
That’s not the way it’s supposed to be

Fear takes away what belongs to me
Fear tells me that I don’t deserve
Fear makes problems grow exponentially,
It slaughters my will and destroys my nerve

Fear tells me not to respect, not to love
Fear keeps my compassion quiet
Fear has me relive injustice with each breath
And makes vengeance my steady diet

Fear sees every one of my flaws
