Use my fellow beings as pathways
On which I walk for my own intent.
My ego is not my God
And vanity not my true love.
I pay close attention to every word,
every gesture
While you impatiently wait for my voice
to fall silent
So you may run out the door in your mindless fashion.
I will not allow the greed or selfish needs of another to own me
Costing me my heart, my mind or my integrity.
