I give in to the vibration
and rumble, not to mention
the horrendous pressure
tearing my teeth out.

Like a carnival ride,
a twist and shift in directions
that shock my body alive
changes my equilibrium.

Born and raised on ship,
the outside frightens
me to the core and bone—
so much space and freedom.

I belong inside the womb
of Mother Ship, long
for protective walls,
the humming of engines.

I will forever feel
ripped from my home
and live only to return.
