In nature
I wait for signs
to move forward
I listen for whispers and swishes
watch for shapes
and flickerings
I feel my way
through shadows
and thorns
and stop to breathe and watch
I rely on
the sun to grow
the moon to harvest
the wind for the water it brings
the soil for the water it holds
In the office
I’m all elbows and indecision
I miss deadlines
because I dislike the word
I miss meetings
even when I attend
I feel rushed
without room enough to fail
In nature
I make no mistakes
I am found in my loss
I am loved in my despair
