“Nothing else matters,” he began,
and looked around the room.
Clearing his throat, he paused,
but not to draw our attention,
which he already had.

“Nothing else matters at all,”
and his bright eyes beamed,
his smile fanfare
for the lyrical explanation
we awaited.

“Oh, if anything else mattered,
I would surely tell you,” he said,
and with a deep bow
left the podium.
