bark like alligator hide
but reminiscent of a snake,
ready to strike
with her head
an unsuspecting mind.
Further along a green tennis ball
disguised as a mossy mound
that spring has unveiled.
We never know if what we are seeing
is real or a trick of nature
and now with deep-fake videos
the bauble of our illusory world
is ready to shatter.
