there is
a poem
in the dawn

my heart
opens
its eyes

to the
quiet
of daybreak

to the
taste
of hot coffee bitter on my tongue

to the
stillness
of night tipping toward day

to the
memory of you
floating in with the clouds

to the
realization
of my heart in its singularness

one more day
of eternity
rising

and
yet
still

the day
comes
gentle on the wings of the night
